Buffalo Wild Wings - Logan Airport

Five Star Building Corp successfully managed the renovation and fit-out of the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant located in Terminal A at Boston Logan International Airport. This high-traffic airport dining project involved a complete mechanical system update to enhance comfort, energy efficiency, and operational reliability in a busy travel hub.

The scope of work included:

  • Mechanical demolition and installation – Removal of existing ductwork, diffusers, indoor units, condensate pumps, and associated components, while reusing select elements such as the existing Variable Air Volume (VAV) system to optimize costs and efficiency.

  • HVAC upgrades – Installation of a new split-system Air Handling Unit (AHU-1) with insulated flexible ducts, double-walled grease ducts, cleanouts every 20 feet, and new liquid/vapor refrigerant lines.

  • Kitchen ventilation improvements – Integration of a new CaptiveAire hood system and grease duct routing through existing roof penetrations, ensuring compliance with commercial kitchen ventilation codes.

  • Airport BAS integration – New thermostat and controls fully compatible with Logan Airport’s Building Automation System for seamless monitoring and temperature regulation.

  • Sustainability and durability – Reuse of existing roof penetrations and condensate lines where possible, plus application of coil conformal coating for sea-salt protection in the coastal airport environment.

This restaurant construction and mechanical renovation project at Logan Airport demonstrates Five Star Building Corp’s ability to deliver fast-track, code-compliant, and operationally efficient builds in secure, high-volume transportation environments. By coordinating closely with architects, engineers, airport authorities, and subcontractors, Five Star ensured the Buffalo Wild Wings location meets the demands of both travelers and staff while aligning with the airport’s infrastructure standards.
